The Latino Alcohol & Health Disparities Research Center (LAHDR) will be conducting free alcohol screenings at UTEP on Thursday, April 7, 2016.

The 2nd Annual National Alcohol Screening Day is being presented by the Latino Alcohol & Health Disparities Research Center and aims to bring awareness to the needs of those individuals who struggle with alcohol and its effects on families.

The event will give free, anonymous alcohol screenings, educational materials, along with live demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at UTEP in the Union Breezeway.

The free screening will consist of a short series of questions and assist individuals with identifying whether or not they are at-risk of an alcohol use disorder. If it is needed, clinical help will be available at this event. After participants complete the screening tool, they will also receive instant feedback and referral information for local resources. Early intervention can significantly increase the likelihood of recovery.

LAHDR will be joining thousands of organizations who will also be hosting alcohol awareness events across the nation.
