Former El Paso Reporter has Small Role in New Sofia Vergara Movie

You’ve likely seen the preview trailer for the new Reese Witherspoon/Sofia Vergara movie in which Reese plays an inept police officer who must protect Vergara’s character from bad cops and criminals, right?

There's a scene in the trailer featuring a handsome television reporter shown describing the “suspects” the public should be on the lookout for. Well, that handsome reporter has an El Paso connection. His name is Phil Anaya, and he used be KFOX 14’s Las Cruces bureau reporter some years ago.

The dreamy Anaya was born and raised in Las Cruces, attended Las Cruces High School and graduated from New Mexico State University. He worked for KFOX from 2009 to 2011 before making the jump to the bigger television market of San Antonio.

Anaya is still in the Alamo City reporting and anchoring the weekend news for the local CBS affiliate. He recently became a first time father, and just married his long-time girlfriend, a television anchor on a rival news station.

"Hot Pursuit" opens nationwide May 8.
