Five Teens in Custody After Leading El Paso Police in Crime Spree
If you noticed all the commotion on I-10, you have five teens to thank for it.
Five teens are in custody after robbing four El Paso stores and leading police on a high speed chase ending halfway to Alamogordo.
No names will be released because they are minors ranging in ages 14-15, but the juveniles will be detained in a juvenile detention facility authorized by the district attorney's office in coordination with juvenile authorities in Otero county.
The east side string of robberies started shortly after 3 p.m. and included a Burger King, a Howdy’s convenience store, and another store in a strip mall near the area. Police caught up to the teens in the Northeast where allegedly one of the teens flashed a gun at police. They will appear before a judge in Alamogordo within the next few days.
