Federal Officials Advise Against Colored Contacts for Halloween Costumes

According to federal officials the colored contacts popular around Halloween are heavily advised against because they have been causing eye infections. These contacts are being sold in retail Halloween stores and have been linked to a string of conjunctivitis infections amongst other eye irritations.

U.S. Immigrations, Customs, Border Patrol and the FDA have been working together to keep the illegal contacts off the shelves and together have seized an estimated 100,000 pairs. Authorities have done testing on the lenses and have found high levels of bacterias and toxins.
