Airshows around the country are being hit hard by federal budget cuts caused by the sequestration, with many being cancelled because of those cuts.  El Paso’s own Amigo Airsho will still happen this year, but the previously announced lineup is going to change.

Earlier this year, Amigo Airsho officials had announced that the Air Combat Command’s F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team from Langley Air Force Base would be performing at the Airsho in October for the first time.  The U.S. Golden Knights were also scheduled to perform, but because of the sequestration, all military demonstration teams and the U.S. Golden Knights have had to cancel their 2013 schedule, including their scheduled appearance at the Airsho.

Officials with the Amigo Airsho say only time will tell how the current cancelations will ultimately impact their program.  They went on to say that Airsho guests will still get a world-class jet team performance by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.  They also have several new features that will make this year's Airsho bigger and better than ever before.
