Local news station viewers may have noticed Faran Fronczak has not been sharing evening news anchor duties at KTSM/NewsChannel 9 lately.

It turns out, she is no longer employed with the news station. In fact, her photos and profile have already been removed from the NewsChannel 9 website.

Elizabeth O’Hara, KTSM's News Director, confirmed Faran's sudden departure via email, but would not give a reason. She replied to my inquiry with a short statement that read, "Faran no longer works for Nexstar Media. We wish her well. That’s all I’m able to say."

Fronczak did not respond to a request for comment, but she did post a Facebook message Thursday (8/24) thanking El Paso.

"El Paso, thank you so much for all of your warmth, friendliness, and welcoming," she wrote. "I couldn't have been prouder to cover your stories. I'll keep you posted on what's to come." She did not offer an explanation for her abrupt exit either.

Her departure comes almost a year to the date after she left her previous job in South Bend, Indiana with "whatever she could fit in her Toyota Camry, and traveled nearly 1,600 miles to 'The Sun City.'"
