‘Family Guy’ Clip Depicting Boston Marathon Bombing is a Hoax

http://youtu.be/H5U5LiHnutw

Did “Family Guy” really predict the Boston Marathon bombings in an episode that aired last month? No, but thanks to an edited clip making the Internet rounds, a lot of people believe it did.

In the video, Peter Griffin appears to use a cell phone to detonate two explosions after being asked how he won the Boston Marathon. The video clip is actually two mashed up unconnected scenes from the March 17th terrorism related episode titled “Turban Cowboy” In the episode, Peter won the Boston Marathon by running over the other participants with his car.

The show’s creator Seth MacFarlane quickly spoke out against the faked video, hitting up Twitter to denounce it.

Yet he’s O.K. with the Family Guy episode where Brian eats Stewie’s feces and vomit!?

FOX has removed the episode from Fox.com and Hulu.com and has no plans to broadcast it again. And although Youtube continues to pull the clip in question from its website, users keep uploading it to the service.
