Families are invited to camp-out under the stars, in the heart of the city this weekend as part of Parks and Recreation Month.

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will host an Overnight Family Camp Out, overnight from Friday July 17, to Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Memorial Park Reserve area, across from Memorial Pool, at 3100 Copper Avenue.

The Camp Out begins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with participants leaving on Saturday by 10:00 a.m. The Camp Out will show families how to set up their tent and campsite properly, teach outdoor cooking techniques/tips, and provide fun evening activities, storytelling, archery, swimming, and many more games.

Registration fee:

  • $5 per child (5 to 17 years of age)
  • $10 per adult (18 years of age and older).
  • Registration will remain open until all spots are filled.
  • All families must provide their own tents, food, drinks, (no alcohol) and supplies.
