WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY: Events for The Neurodivergent People In Your Life

April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day but April itself is Autism Acceptance Month and I want to highlight all the events happening to support the Autistic community here in El Paso, Texas!

El Paso has a few great organizations doing some solid work for the Autistic Community, but The El Paso Chapter of The Autism Society of Texas has a consistent calendar of things to do this month ending in one really great event to support the neuro-divergent people in your life!

CRAFT SATURDAYS

Arts and Crafts Saturdays is a monthly event that happens every Saturday! The group focuses on a new craft every month and invites the community to come by and join in on the fun. Stop by from 1-3pm every Saturday to find out what the new craft is.

TOOTH DECAY & AUTISM

Come by for a short and informative meeting about tooth decay and autism. Learn a bit more about what dental hygiene looks like for people experiencing autism and how you can help! Tuesday, April 9th, from 1-2pm.

AUTISM AWARENESS APPRECIATION EVENT

Saturday April 13th from 11am-2pm, you can join up with The Autism Society of El Paso for a celebration event! If you're on the spectrum yourself, like me, or if you just want to spend time with family somewhere a little more autism friendly, I hope you'll stop by for a great community celebration!

ADULT AUTISM SUPPORT MEETING

The support meetings happen on the third Wednesday of every month, so even if you cant make it out to Aprils meeting, you'll have more opportunities to come out and be with community. Contact The Autism Society of El Paso for more info on what you can expect from these monthly meetings.

16TH ANNUAL AUTISM RUN WALK

The final event of the month is The Autism Society's biggest one! For the last 16 years, the El Paso Chapter of the Autism Society of Texas has hosted an annual Run Walk to raise awareness and support for the autistic community here in El Paso!
