El Paso PD Investigating Sunland Park Mall Teen Brawl

The El Paso Police Department is looking into a fight between two groups of teen girls that went down Tuesday evening, December 27, at Sunland Park Mall.

The El Paso Times reports the scuffle is being investigated and assault charges could be filed. The slugfest caught the attention of law enforcement after video of the brawl was recorded by numerous shoppers and posted online.

The clip shows the two groups of girls pulling each other by the hair and swinging away as mall security guards try to separate them.

According to Univision 26, the fight broke out after "racist comments" about one of the girls being "white" were made.

Because those involved are juveniles, their identities have not been released.
