Schools are taking threats very seriously in the wake of the shootings in New Town Connecticut on Friday, and the El Paso Independent School District is no different.

ABC 7 reports that EPISD Police arrested and charged two high school students for making threats to the safety of a high school campus.

EPISD officials said their Police department takes any type of threat to the safety of students very seriously, and the District will not tolerate this type of behavior.

They also said any student caught making any type of threat that undermines the safety of others will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct and face criminal charges.

If you or your child know or hear of any potential threat to to a campus, you are asked to contact the school administration or EPISD police immediately.
