Volunteers and New Mexico wildlife officials got up super early today and not just for the fun of it, but to help out your weekend future plans.

They have been busy stocking Elephant Butte Lake State Park with 40,000 black bass. They aren’t much to look at now currently only measuring no more than the length of a small finger, but in the years to come people can fish them out.

And Thanks to community fundraising, Elephant Butte was restocked with 20,000 large mouth bass in May. So it looks like times at the lake with family is going to be great!
