The date is set for the 2023 Lincoln Park Day celebration.

El Paso’s “Mexican American culture and traditions” will be on full display at the 19th annual “Chicano art and Lowrider Happening.”

From Zoot Suit-wearing vatos to lovingly restored ranflas, the yearly event hosted by the Lincoln Park Conservation Committee puts “El Chuco’s” heritage in the spotlight for an afternoon.

Lincoln Park – also known as Chicano Park -- is the grassy area under the Spaghetti Bowl that you've no doubt passed countless times on your way to and from downtown.

Located at 4001 Durazno Street, the iconic South Central green-space is known for the colorful murals painted on the freeway columns.

Part of the historic El Segundo Barrio (Spanish for "the Second Neighborhood"), the park is also home to the historic Lincoln Center, the future site of the Mexican American Cultural Institute.

If you've spent any amount of time in our city you've no doubt seen a lowrider or two cruising the streets of “Chuco Town” in its preferred leisurely manner.

On Lincoln Park Day, you can get up-close and lay eyes on classic rides and “low-lows” during the city’s biggest Lowrider car show. Hosted by Latin Pride car club, the car show will feature local and regional lowriders and car clubs.

Live entertainment that typically includes Matachines, Ballet Folklorico dance groups, and a local band or two will also be part of the mix.

This year's Lincoln Park Day is set for Sunday, September 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free to attend.
