Whole Foods Market is weeks away from opening its first El Paso location.

Per a company news release, the store will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19. The 50,000-square-foot, “premium-designed” store is located in the La Villita shopping center at 6801 North Mesa, across from Coronado High School.

Word is the El Paso store will be as unique as our city itself.

Along with carrying dozens of home town products such as salsas from So El Paso, baked goods from Bella Cora Bakery , and teas from Tippi Teas, the El Paso location will have a taproom with 24 beers on tap (including locally made brew from Ode Brewing), and a stand-alone restaurant/taqueria -- features not currently found inside any other Whole Foods' stores.

Another first for the high end, organic grocer will be the addition of a wood-fired grill that, per the El Paso Times, will be used "to charbroil meats used in pizzas, sandwiches and other prepared-food sold at the store."
