This past weekend adults found themselves transported back in time to their own Barbie-filled childhoods and many found themselves saying that now Iconic phrase,

“Hi Barbie!”

I have yet to see the Barbie movie but I did go to the theater this past weekend with my son to watch a completely different movie because of course he would take me to watch a horror film instead of the film I actually wanted to see. *Stares in Mom*

The second we arrived at the theater my son said, “Wow, pink is everywhere!” We were greeted with a sea of people dressed in bright pink! Barbie pink to be exact!

From young girls, to older women, to newborn babies and even the men got in on the action. Fans put on their best Barbie inspired outfit and honestly, it was a very precious thing to witness.

El Paso Children’s Hospital dressed up their NICU babies in adorable Barbie themed outfits and patients also got a very special visit from Barbie and Ken themselves.

Barbie is something we all grew up with! Everyone had their favorite Barbie doll. We all wanted to be like Barbie because in the Barbie world you can be anything you wanted to be!

A lawyer, a doctor, a teacher, a journalist you name it! Barbie sure has evolved from what it first was created to be back in 1959.

I had a friend share a post of her and her other girlfriends all dressed up in their best Barbie themed outfits and the caption read, “This isn’t a movie, It’s a movement” and from the reviews, I must agree.

This childhood toy that most of us grew up admiring was able to bring moms and daughters, best friends, and even men together to relive our childhood and to understand the importance of being a powerful woman!
