Plaza Classic Film Festival - “The World’s Largest Classic Film Festival“featuring more than 80 movies of all genres. Actress Shirley Jones, best known for her television role on “The Partridge Family” will discuss her experiences while filming "Oklahoma" before its screening. Ticket prices vary depending on movie. Fiesta de San Lorenzo - The annual fiesta, one of the largest in the county, celebrates San Lorenzo, the patron saint of the poor. The festival features traditional matachine dancers and other entertainment, as well game booths, carnival foods, and carnival rides for children. Admission to all events is FREE. Noon to 1 a.m. at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Clint (take the Clint exit from I-10 and follow the Mission Trail signs). 851-2255

Friday at the Fire – Live music by local bands set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing at Ft. Bliss outdoor fireplace. 6 – 11 p.m. FREE. This week, Joe Barron Band.

Alfresco! Fridays – Fresh-air performances from local bands playing various genres of music. 6 p.m. on the Convention Center Plaza. FREE. This week, Chicago tribute band Windy City. More Details

Anything Box Concert - The electronic/synth band best known for their 1989 hit “Living In Oblivion”returns for a 21 and older only performance. 8 p.m. at Room 101 in the Mesa Inn Motel, 4151 N. Mesa. Tickets, $25. More Details

El Paso Playhouse Presents ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’ – El Paso’s longest running Community Theater presents the comedy play written by Christopher Durang about regret and sibling rivalry. Showtime is 8 p.m. at the El Paso Playhouse, 2501 Montana. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Movies on the Lawn – UTEP’s annual summer film series features movies shown outdoors on an 18-foot inflatable screen. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, but leave your alcohol and glass containers at home. Concessions available. This week’s featured film is "The Incredibles". Farmer’s Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 7:30 a.m. to noon. Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Museum of Art Free Movie Screenings - The El Paso Museum of Art will screen a couple of movies at the museum in collaboration with The Plaza Film Festival. "Ice Age" will show at 1 p.m. and "An Arctic Tale" at 3 p.m. FREE, but seating is limited to the first 220 people. 532-1707

Horizon City Movies in the Park – Relatively current movies shown on an inflatable screen, weather permitting.
