FRIDAY:

Fred Loya Christmas Light Show – The nine minute holiday light show features over 230,000 lights synchronized to music. Showtimes are 6, 7, and 8 p.m. Mr. Loya’s house is located on the East side at 120001 Paseo de Oro, one block north of Montwood, off Bob Mitchell. Free. More Details.

Horse Racing – The live horse racing season is underway at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino. Post time is 12:15 p.m. Free general admission and parking. More Details

Friday at the Fire – Mainstreet performs against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing outdoor fireplace. DJ Darrin before and after. 6- 11 p.m. Free.

El Paso Playhouse – El Paso Playhouse presents the holiday play ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’. 8 p.m. at the El Paso Playhouse, 2501 Montana. Tickets are $10, $7 military/students with ID. More Details

El Paso Rhinos Hockey – El Paso’s Junior League ice hockey team hosts the Tulsa Oilers. 7:30 p.m. at the Sierra Providence Events Center, next to the Coliseum, 4100 E. Paisano. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Downtown Ghost Tour – El Paso Ghost Tours will take you inside downtown’s most haunted and historical buildings and conduct full paranormal investigations. Two walking tours, 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Meet at Leo’s Mexican Restaurant, 315 E Mills Ave. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door, discounts available. More Details

SATURDAY:

Navidad De La Fe Luminarias on Scenic Drive – 4,000 luminarias will line the entire length of Scenic Drive from 6 – 10 p.m. Free, but drivers and pedestrians are asked to donate cash or a canned, non-perishable food item. More Details

Freedom Crossing Family Play Date – The family-themed event begins with a showing of Arthur Christmas at the Grand Theatre at 10 a.m. Tickets for all ages are $3.50 and include a kid’s size popcorn and soda. Free activities for kids, such as elf characters, write letters to Santa, special Christmas dance performance from Valle del Sol, and a photo booth follows at 11 a.m. in the Play Area and runs through 2 p.m. Freedom Crossing, 11611 Haan Road at Ft. Bliss

Megadeth Concert – The legendary thrash metal band will perform at the Socorro Entertainment Center, 11200 Santos Sanchez, off Socorro Road, 4.5 miles southeast of Loop 375, beginning at 8 p.m. Free 18 and older, $10 17 and younger. More Details

Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Winter Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. Magoffin Home Holiday Open House - the Magoffin Home comes alive with the sights and sounds of Christmas, featuring seven lighted and decorated trees.
