San Eli First Friday Art Walk & Ghost Tour – All of the art galleries stay open for this once a month evening event, which includes live music at the Bandido Cantina, a “Movie on the Wall” at around 8:00 p.m., and Ghost Tour . 6 – 9 p.m. in the San Elizario Art District located off Socorro Road at Main Street. El Paso Playhouse Presents ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’ – El Paso’s longest running Community Theater presents the comedy play written by Christopher Durang about regret and sibling rivalry. Showtime is 8 p.m. at the El Paso Playhouse, 2501 Montana. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Movies on the Lawn – UTEP’s annual summer film series features movies shown outdoors on an 18-foot inflatable screen. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, but leave your alcohol and glass containers at home. Concessions available. This week’s featured film is "Teen Beach Movie". Movies in the Canyon – Family friendly, relatively current movies screened on an inflatable screen set up on the stage of the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. SATURDAY:

Farmer’s Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 7:30 a.m. to noon. Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Thomas the Tank Engine Meet and Greet – The fictional steam locomotive is on a fun-filled, sing along adventure and is making a stop at the El Paso Exploreum, 300 W. San Antonio. The Really Useful Engine will be available to take photos for FREE with children and their families from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More Details

Bug Awareness Weekend at the El Paso Zoo - The annual bug out at the zoo features live bug displays set up throughout the zoo spotlighting creepy crawlers from around the world, plus bug cooking and tasting, and more. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the El Paso Zoo, 4001 E Paisano Dr. Admission prices vary.
