UTEP Dinner Theatre Presents ‘Chess’ - UTEP Dinner Theatre closes the season with the musical about two chess grandmasters, an American and a Soviet, fighting over a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other, all in the context of a politically-driven, Cold War-era tournament between the two men. 7 p.m., 2nd Floor UTEP’s Union Building West. Movies on the Lawn – UTEP’s annual summer film series features movies shown outdoors on an 18-foot inflatable screen. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, but leave your alcohol and glass containers at home. Concessions available. This week’s featured film is "The Lego Movie". Movies in the Canyon – Family friendly, relatively current movies screened on an inflatable screen set up on the stage of the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Farmer’s Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 7:30 a.m. to noon.
