FRIDAY:

Friday at the Fire – Live music by local bands set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing at Ft. Bliss outdoor fireplace. 6 – 11 p.m. FREE. This week, Trailerband (outlaw country).

El Paso Playhouse Presents ‘Old Hams’ – El Paso's longest running Community Theater kicks off its 51st season with the comedy ‘Old Hams.’ The story revolves around a group of retired actors about to lose their retirement home, and the hijinks they get into trying to save it. Showtime is 8 p.m. at the El Paso Playhouse, 2501 Montana. Ticket prices vary. More Details

Movies on the Lawn – UTEP’s annual summer film series features movies shown outdoors on an 18-foot inflatable screen. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, but leave your alcohol and glass containers at home. Concessions available. This week’s featured film is Hercules. Movie starts at approximately 8:30 p.m., weather permitting, at Kidd Field on the UTEP campus. FREE. More Details

SATURDAY:

Downtown Street Festival – One of the largest outdoor festivals El Paso has to offer, encompassing most of the area around the Downtown Convention Center. The festival consists of four outdoor music stages, vendor booths, El Paso’s largest car show, a fireworks show, and more. Tonight on the main stage, Three Days Grace, Fozzy, fronted by WWE superstar Chris Jericho, and Better Than Ezra. More Details

Farmer’s Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The “producers only” market features area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. 7:30 a.m. to noon. Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Airborne Toxic Event Concert - The indie band known for its blend of rock music and orchestral arrangements performs an all-ages show along with opening act Minus the Bear at the Socorro Entertainment Center, 11200 Santos Sanchez, off Socorro Road, 4.5 miles southeast of Loop 375.
