2014 Conference USA Tournament - The UTEP men and women’s basketball team is hosting the conference’s postseason tournament. Men’s semifinals are at 2 and 3:30 p.m. Women’s semifinals are at 9 and 11:30 a.m. Don Haskins Center, 2801 N Mesa. Ticket prices vary. More Details

St. Paddy's Weekend Street Festival - Freedom Crossing's St. Paddy's Weekend Street Festival is four days of live music, Irish food, beer, and fun activities outside on the promenade. Bands performing include Fungi Mungle, The Hooligans (Irish Party Band), Patrick Fleming (U2 covers), Sobredosis del Sabor (salsa, merengue), and an authentic Irish bagpipe troop. FREE admission. Friday at the Fire – Enjoy an evening of live music set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing outdoor fireplace. Tonight, Sobredosis del Sabor 6- 11 p.m. at Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, 1611 Haan Road. FREE.

Sun City Scifi – Science Fiction convention featuring celebrity panels, vendors, local comic book artists, and photo ops. This year’s scheduled guests include actress Kathy Najimy and Ray Park, best known as Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode One, and more. 6 to 9 p.m. at the El Paso Convention Center. Admission varies. El Paso Rhinos Hockey – El Paso’s Junior League ice hockey team hosts the Dallas Snipers in the best of three Conference Semi-Finals. 7:30 p.m. at the Sierra Providence Events Center, next to the Coliseum, 4100 E. Paisano. Ticket prices vary. More Details

SATURDAY:

Sun City Scifi – Science Fiction convention featuring celebrity panels, vendors, local comic book artists, and photo ops. This year’s scheduled guests include actress Kathy Najimy and Ray Park, best known as Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode One, and more. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the El Paso Convention Center. Admission varies. More Details
