Both the El Paso Opera and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra are teaming up for two nights for the production of Carmen at the Abraham Chavez Theatre.

Carmen is an opera that was written by the French composer Georges Bizet in 1875 and tells the story of jealousy and love. The opera is set in Spain where Don Jose is in love with Micaela but is soon lured away from her by the gypsy Carmen. When Don Jose learns that his love, Micaela is in love with another man he is blinded by jealousy and murders his love in a fit of rage.

The El Paso Opera will be joined by conductor Bohuslav Rattay and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra in this production of Carmen for two nights only, March 17 and March 19, 2016.
