If you've ever driven on I-10 in the evening then you’ve no doubt noticed the star on the Franklin Mountains above Scenic Drive. At 459 feet by 278 feet and made up of 459 light bulbs, It’s kind of hard to miss. Few of us, however, get to see the landmark up close and personal. But now, thanks to El Pasoan Derek Spear and his quadcopter drone, we can all get a unique aerial view of the iconic star that has been lighting our nights in one form or another since 1940.
