Two record stores in El Paso will be celebrating Record Store Day on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

Record Store Day was launched back in 2008 to not only commemorate music on vinyl but to celebrate the culture of the independent record stores.

In today’s world and at the advent of technology has allowed to bring the music to our fingertips without leaving the comfort of our homes, but once upon a time it was all about discovering new music by going to your local record store, hang out, listen to some great music and make friends along the way.

On Saturday, All That Music & Video will open from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m located on 6800 Gateway Blvd E, and will celebrate with food trucks, hourly giveaways along with a DJ spinning actual vinyl records.

A newer record store which opened last year, Mother of Pearl Vinyl will open at 8 a.m. and is located on 4935 N. Mesa. They are also having a sleep over the night before and encourage those who want to camp out to bring their sleeping bags and tents. They will also be offering free pizza and coffee and will also have outdoor listening stations as well.

Record Store Day caters to hardcore music enthusiasts who love music on vinyl and this day will also offer special releases that will complete any music lovers collection.
