If you are out and about and you think you see more people being pulled over by the cops, you're right.

The El Paso Police Department is going after so-called 'distracted' drivers. They will be pulling over people who are not only speeding, but driving while intoxicated, and doing things like talking or texting while driving.

It's part of an operation which began May 1 and runs through this Saturday that is funded by a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant from the Texas Department of Transportation. The program is intended to reduce traffic deaths and crashes.

Last week, 69 people were given speeding tickets, 67 people got tickets for distracted driving, and four people were arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Let's be careful out there.
