A group of men allegedly stole four Sheriff Richard Wiles re-election campaign signs from in front of L&J Cafe in Central El Paso, and it was all caught on tape.

The Wiles campaign had permission for the signs to be on the window. The restaurant's surveillance system caught one of the men being sought reaching up to a window while another man seems to be watching to see if anyone is in the area. As the men leave the scene, a campaign sign can be seen on the ground.

The Wiles campaign notified EPPD about the incident, saying this was not an isolated incident. Campaign officials say they have gotten reports from some of their supporters who say their signs have been stolen. The El Paso County Democratic Party says you can get into trouble for not only stealing political signs, but even just tampering with them is a crime. Punishment ranges from $2,000 in fines to 180 days in jail, or both.

Wiles opponent, Tom Buchino, says his campaign has also gotten reports from supporters of his signs being stolen as well, but said, "Our campaign however, choose to simply re-install signs at these locations and not make a law enforcement and or media issue of such. I believe our local law enforcement has better things to do like protecting and serving our community."

If you know who the men in the video are, you are asked to call the El Paso Police Department.
