El Paso Police Investigating an Infant Who Was Abandoned in a Car Seat on the West Side

El Paso Police are still investigating why a woman left a 7-month-old child in a car seat on the side of the road Friday night.

The name of the woman who now says she is the little girl's mother has not been released, and the baby was not released to her. Right now, all that is known is the 7-month-old girl was found in a car seat in the 5000 block of Conley road near Doniphan around 8 o'clock Friday night.

She appears to be healthy, and was taken to the hospital. Residents in the area say they didn't know who had left the baby there. The baby was released to Child Protective Services.
