‘Tis the season for goosebumps.

If you prefer scares over sweets than October is the month for you. This is the month to get into the spirit of the Halloween season and explore haunted El Paso with like-minded people.

These local paranormal groups have conjured up some spook-tacular opportunities for scaring up a good time throughout the month of October.

Lost El Paso Paranormal

Walking tours this month include a Vampire's Night! Downtown Ghost Tour, and Halloween Eve lantern light tour of Concordia Cemetery.

The Vampire Night walk is billed as a costume party/ghost tour "through the darkened streets and alleyways of Downtown El Paso" that includes stops "at haunted burial grounds and forgotten cemeteries."

The Devil's Night Concordia Cemetery Ghost Tour is on the night before Halloween -- considered one of the spookiest nights of the year because it's believed the veil between our world and the spirit world is thinned, and the spirits come out to roam among the living. Ayy Dios mio!

Don’t want to walk? Nor worries, the Reverend Henry Flores has a solution — just go on his bus tour. The two and half hour "ghostly ride" will make stops at places around town that are reportedly haunted or where alleged paranormal activity has happened, that includes "historic schools, cemeteries, museums and downtown El Paso".

The Reverend promises "horror stories, paranormal experiences, and TONS of laughs." You can find ticket info, dates, times and more specifics on the Facebook event page.

Of the half dozen tours being offered this month, two stand out most: the Ysleta High School Ghost Walk and Ghosts of the Ancients at Hueco Tanks.

Built in 1927, Ysleta High is said to have more than it's fair share of activity. Shadow figures, and the sounds of footsteps running down long, empty corridors have been reported at the school for years.

The ghost walk at Hueco Tanks is the first ever paranormal tour of the state park, according to the group. Attendees should prepare to enter "dark, mysterious, and historic areas" of Hueco Tanks.

Tickets and more info can be found on the Paso del Norte Paranormal Society Facebook.

If being a part of an investigation is on your Spooky Things I Want to Do Before I Die bucket list then you'll want to give this one a try. EP Ghost Tours goes inside the infamous De Soto Hotel every Friday. This month that means the Friday before Halloween and the Friday after.

Attendees get to take part in a paranormal investigation down in the hotel's basement, arguably one of the most active sites in the city. Book a date and get more info on the El Paso Ghost Tours website.
