Earlier this week, 61 year old Carlos Fernandez was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty. Now, Fernandez's home has been vandalized in response to the charges.

Residents in the Kern Place neighborhood where Fernandez lives say they have seen him torturing puppies that he got from Craigslist. They contacted El Paso Police in September when an injured pit bull puppy was found at his home. Three months passed before police came out to investigate another puppy being hurt.

Video of Fernandez allegedly throwing a puppy into a ceiling fan, and showing the body of a decomposing puppy in his backyard, was shown to authorties, and Fernandez was arrested and charged with two counts of cruelty to a non-livestock animal.

Neighbors are now reporting that the words 'PETA', which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and 'KILLR' have been spray painted across the front of Fernandez's house. Eggs have also been thrown at the home.

Elpasopets.org is looking for the people who gave Fernandez a dog. They say information they get from those people could possibly lead to more abuse charges against Fernandez. If you would like to talk to elpasopets.org about Fernandez, you can call them anonymously at 915-412-6642.

As of Saturday, Fernandez was still in jail under a $3,000 bond.
