El Paso Lightsaber Vigil To Be Held In Carrie Fisher’s Honor

Hollywood and the world seem to be reeling from the loss of Carrie Fisher earlier this week and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, just a day later. Funeral arrangements for the mother/daughter duo have not been announced, but it is believed that there will be a joint funeral for the pair. Family officials say that is what they would have wanted.

Here in El Paso, the birthplace of Debbie Reynolds, a lightsaber tribute to the Star Wars actress will be held.

The vigil will be held at the Alamo Drafthouse on the west side. There have been a number of other lightsaber tributes to Carrie Fisher, including one at Disneyland that drew thousands of fans.

If you are planning on going to the local lightsaber vigil, you are encouraged to dress up like your favorite Star Wars character. Take your lightsaber with you, but if you don't have one, bring flashlights and glow sticks to brighten the sky and say thank you to the woman who inspired so many on and off the screen.
