Kmart has announced that they will close 68 stores nationwide, and one of those that will close forever is on El Paso's east side.

The Kmart at 11330 Montwood will close by late July, but begin liquidating it's inventory on May 12. Sears Holdings, which owns the nation's Kmart's, says they need to close it's unprofitable Kmart locations. The stores affected were chosen because of poor past profit performances and upcoming lease expiration dates.
