Good-bye New Year's resolution, hello 2020 Girl Scout cookie season.

The Girl Scouts want to fatten me up and I'm going to let them. Besides, I hear Girl Scout cookies are life's way of rewarding you for giving up on your diet, so no worries.

From Jan. 19 through March 8, the pint-sized cookie mafia, er, I mean Girls Scouts of the Desert Southwest, will be out and about hustling all of your favorite legendary cookies. Whatever your favorite type of cookie is -- Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Caramel Delites -- the pre-teen cookie dealers got what you need.

The only thing they don’t have is a new cookie flavor. Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest will not be adding one to their line-up this year, according to Ileana Martinez, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for GSDSW.

In fact, they’ll be saying good-bye to one.

“This will be the last year our baker will be making our famous Thanks-A-Lot cookie,” Martinez informed me via email. (There’s only one way to properly wish it a fond farewell in my book.)

However, the packaging will be new. “All of our cookie boxes have been redesigned with new imagery showcasing activities girls could do when they join our Girl Scout program,” she added.

Cookie prices will remain at $4 a box this season, unless you want a bag of the gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie they introduced in 2019. Those will cost you a buck more.
