El Paso Events – Things To Do This Weekend

Here’s what’s going on in and around El Paso this weekend, October 4 - October 6. Some events are free, some will cost you a few bucks:

FRIDAY:

Disney on Ice: ‘Rockin’ Ever After’ - Disney characters from “Brave,” “Tangled,” “Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast” come to life and compete to be the next superstar in comical segments leading up to the show stopping princesses! 7:30 p.m. at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 Paisano. First Friday ArtWalk and Ghost Tour - All of the art galleries are open in the evening for this once a month event in the San Elizario Art District. Live music at the Bandido Cantina, the “Movie on the Wall” at 8:00 p.m. and the San Elizario Ghost Tour at 10:00 p.m.are also part of the festivities. 6 - 9 p.m. in the Art District located off Socorro Rd at Main Street. Freedom Crossing Fall Market - The 2013 outdoor market features arts and crafts vendors, food and produce vendors, and live entertainment. 8am – 1pm in the Freedom Crossing Mall parking lot at Pike Rd. and Marshall Rd. More Details

Southern New Mexico State Fair - The annual fair features a rodeo, vendors, carnival rides, and live entertainment. 10 a.m. to midnight at the Doña Ana County Fairgrounds, 12 miles west of Las Cruces off I-10. Admission is $10 for ages 7 to 14 and $12 older. More Details

La Union Maze – The 13 acre cornfield features a farm animal corral, cow train and other family activities, plus tractor-pulled wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, and “the best maze in the area”. 5 to 10 p.m. at 1101 Highway 28 in La Union, N.M., next to Zin Valle Winery. Admission prices vary, discounts available. More Details

Friday at the Fire – Live music by local bands set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing outdoor fireplace. 6- 11 p.m. Free. This week, Sorry About Your Sister. DJ Darrin kicks the night off at 6 p.m.

Downtown Ghost Tour – El Paso Ghost Tours will take you inside downtown’s most haunted and historical buildings and conduct full paranormal investigations. Two walking tours, 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Meet at Leo’s Mexican Restaurant, 315 E Mills Ave. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door, discounts available. More Details

Mesilla Valley Corn Maze at Lyles Family Farms – The 15th annual Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch including a variety of activities, games (most of them free), food, and a hayride to the pumpkin patch. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 3855 W. Downtown Artist and Farmers Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts and regionally grown produce in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Farmer’s Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing – The annual “producers only” market featuring area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas.
