This year the El Paso Community Foundation is making easier to pay it forward by integrating today’s technology with this year’s Spirit of Giving Tree.

The El Paso Community Foundation’s virtual Spirit of Giving tree is an easy and anonymous way to give a gift to someone who really needs it. Simply click the tag of the story that moves you and pay for the gift. The El Paso Community Foundation will ensure that it is delivered. You also can print the tag, purchase the gift, and wrap and deliver it, with the tag, to 333 N. Oregon St. on the second floor. Office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Friday.

The drop-off deadline for gifts is Dec. 18, 2015.

Locations of on-site Spirit of Giving trees include:

  • Cielo Vista Mall
  • Sunland Park Mall
  • All five GECU/Members Trust Company locations (Viscount and Airway, Rojas and Zaragoza, Vista del Sol and Yarbrough, Transmountain and Dyer, and Resler and Helen of Troy).

The trees are adorned with tags that represent the stories of people — children, elderly, and disabled whom are in need. Pick a tag, buy a gift, wrap it with the tag, and return it to the location where you purchased it.

Since 1989, the El Paso Community Foundation has joined with nonprofits, shopping malls, churches and local media to help those in need at Christmas, distributing more than 51,000 gifts to date.
