Fred Loya House Light Shows – The nine minute laser and light show features over 450,000 multicolored lights set to music. Show times are 6, 7, and 8 p.m. at Mr. Loya’s house, 12001 Paseo de Oro. FREE. More Info

Eastridge Christmas lights – Many of the residents of the Eastridge subdivision have been participating in the neighborhood-wide holiday lights display for many, many years. Around 60 homes are decorated this year. You can walk around the neighborhood or drive through in your car. Eastridge is off McRae Blvd; turn west on Eastridge. FREE

Downtown Christmas lights – Because the San Jacinto Plaza is currently being renovated, the holiday lights and decorations have moved to Cleveland Square, between the El Paso Museum of History and the downtown library. FREE

El Paso Youth Ballet Presents ‘The Nutcracker’ Ballet – El Paso’s very own ‘Nutcracker’ presented by The El Paso Youth Ballet. 7:30 p.m. at UTEP’s Magoffin Auditorium. Ticket prices vary. 747-5234

El Paso Playhouse Presents ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ – El Paso’s longest running Community Theater presents the holiday favorite ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’. The story revolves around the Herdmans, who bully their way into the main roles in a church play and come to realize the true meaning of the holiday, while also giving the gift of a new perspective on the Christmas story to regular church goers. 8 p.m. at the El Paso Playhouse, 2501 Montana. Story Time with Santa at the Fountains - Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for a special reading of a classic Christmas story. 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Promenade Amphitheater. FREE

Luminarias Festival/Posadas along the Mission Trail – Around 5,000 luminarias will be lit and line Socorro Road from the Ysleta Mission past the Socorro Mission, then to the San Elizario Plaza. 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Posadas beginning at dusk. FREE. 851-1682

Navidad de La Fe Luminarias – The 23rd annual event put on by La Fe Clinic will light up Scenic Drive with more than 4,000 luminarias. Drivers will also get to view Santa and his elves and a live Nativity scene. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. FREE, but you are encouraged to donate canned and/or dry goods or cash to benefit families served by La Fe. 534-7190

[Note: Scenic Drive will be open only to one-way traffic during the event, accessible from Richmond/Alabama streets in Central El Paso. Cars proceed slowly westward with lights off to view the luminarias and the city lights of El Paso and Juárez.]
