There is nothing I love more than Christmas music, but there is a difference between Bing Crosby, Mariah Carey, and Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and Handel’s Messiah. You can hear what is possibly the most beautiful Christmas music known to man when the El Paso Choral Society presents Handel's Messiah with an orchestra and professional soloists at the Abraham Chavez Theatre on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the 110-voice El Paso Chorale, there will be professional soloists who have performed all over America, including at the the Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Houston Grand Opera.

The El Paso Chorale has been in existence for 70 years and they have performed Requiems by Mozart, Verdi, Beethoven’s Ninth, and Bach’s St. John Passion. You can get tickets for the Handel’s Messiah concert through Ticketmaster.com, or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000. You can also go to the Plaza Theatre Box Office and the El Paso Choral Society.

Tickets range in price from $10 - $40. You can also buy season tickets that will include the Handel’s Messiah concert as well as the March 23, 2019 performance of Verdi’s Requiem.
Check out the El Paso Choral Society website for information about upcoming EPCS events, including the December 7 fundraiser Winter Ball on the Border.
