Ninety second grade students from Frank Macias Elementary have been tested for tuberculosis. 163 students and eight staff members at the school were exposed to TB after coming into contact with someone who had active TB.
Parents who had their kids tested on Thursday will have to go to the school Monday for the results. There will be follow-up by the County for kids or employees who test positive for TB.

If you got a letter identifying your child as one that needs to be tested, you can go to Frank Macias on Monday, June 29th from 9 a.m. to noon, or on Tuesday, June 30th from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. The tests are free.

If you didn’t get a letter saying your child was exposed, but you still want to get your child tested, you can go to the Department of Public Health's website to make an appointment to get tested.
