The Department of Animal Services wants to keep the number of unwanted animals from exploding, so they are offering a low-cost spay/neuter services at its Mission Valley facility. The services will be available on certain days this month as part of Animal Services’ “Spay, Neuter, Love” project.

The first 50 animals that register on the designated days will get the spay/neuter service. You will have to register in order to take advantage of this service and no walk-up appointments will be allowed.

You can sign up by calling 212-0299. Cats will cost $25, Chihuahuas and Pit Bulls are $50. Appointments are also being taken for dates following the “Spay, Neuter, Love” event, and those future dates are open to cats and dogs of all breeds. Fees will vary by weight and species.
