Good news fellow moviegoers who can't stand it when people talk and text during a movie -- and like to sip on a craft beer or three while taking in a flick. Our long, cinematic nightmare will eventually be coming to an end.

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema-Montecillo in West El Paso announced it is on track for “an early Summer 2016 opening.”

El Paso's first Alamo Drafthouse will be located across the street from the Montecillo — that’s the mixed-use community development on North Mesa between Argonaut and Festival. Like all other Alamos, ours will offer a full dinner menu, as well as wine and beer (tap and bottled), and seat-side service by ninja-like waiters. The Austin-based chain is well known for not allowing advertisements before a movie, and its hardcore policy against talking and texting during movies. (Thank God!)

The long-awaited project was originally scheduled to open this past spring, but fell woefully behind after “unforeseen issues" with the property delayed construction.
