A repurposed airport hangar will again be the site of a parking lot cinema this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Aug. 21-23.

El Paso Live is the latest to embrace the nostalgic, socially distanced entertainment option that, due to restrictions and guidelines put in place to combat the coronavirus pandemic, has become the biggest summer trend in El Paso.

It’s called "Movies on the Fly at Hangar 7 Studios." The drive-in event is set to operate every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the last weekend in August. Movies are shown on “El Paso’s biggest screen” – the 50x30-foot hangar doors which have been painted white.

Selections this weekend include the animated Shrek and The Fast and the Furious, the 2001 action film that launched the Fast and Furious franchise and a series of seven sequels (and counting).
