I live in east-central El Paso, and I can tell you, we need a Sprouts. I can go to the one on Sunland Park after work, or all the way out to the one in far east El Paso on the weekend, but having one right around the corner from my house would be wonderful.

That’s why I’m so glad to hear that a Sprouts Farmers Market might go into the East El Paso shopping center at I-10 and McRae. The shopping center used to house a Walgreens, Toys R Us, and Office Depot, but for years, it has been mostly vacant. The El Paso Times says that not only might Sprouts move in there, but a 100,000 square-foot At Home decor superstore will be moving in.

At Home is a Dallas area based chain with 133 home-decor superstores in 32 states. I’m glad to have a nice place to shop for my house, but Sprouts is the store I can’t wait to see open in the area.

The Times says officials with Sprouts “are looking at possibly remodeling vacant retail space next to Toys 'R' Us in the Eastgate Shopping Center at Interstate 10 and McRae Boulevard for a third El Paso store.”

Sprouts won’t officially say they are going to move in to the space, but an architectural firm doing work for Sprouts has applied for a city building permit for work on a Sprouts store in the Eastgate center.
