The sequel to the Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels classic “Dumb and Dumber,” which hit theaters this weekend, includes scenes of the San Jacinto Plaza. Kind of.

Although a movie crew did come to town and shot a scene with stand-ins on Santa Fe Street, the Marietta Square in Marietta, Georgia was used as a substitute for our iconic plaza. According to the Marietta Daily Journal, the production company “styled [the square] as El Paso,” but if this photo is any indication, they weren’t going for an exact replica.

In fact, I'm told the only shots of El Paso in the movie are both aerial shots. No actual footage of Downtown El Paso made the final cut -- not even the one shot with stand-ins on Santa Fe Street, as evidenced by this image released by Universal Pictures.

"Dumb and Dumber To" will be in El Paso area theaters beginning tomorrow, Friday, November 14.
