Drivers Near Montwood To Deal With Road Closures For Two Months [MAP]

If you drive on Montwood near Eastwood High School, you know there is a huge road works project going on that has been the source of thousands of headaches. Well, pull out the aspirin because for a couple of months, things are going get even more painful.

Crews are working on installing flood control measures that have been desperately needed for decades, but all that work requires occasionally closing off heavily travelled streets. The lasted to be slated for closure is Wedgewood near Montwood. You’ll have to go around that area for 2 months. Hooray.

Wedgewood will be closed immediately north of Montwood beginning on Monday, October 27, 2014. There will be detours marked that will take you onto Montwood, McRae, and Album. Traffic on Montwood will not be impacted.

If you use the bus, here are the changes you need to know about:

SUN METRO DETOURS:
Rout 52 will be detoured. Sun Metro drivers will make courtesy stops along the detoured route as required. Buses traveling outbound, north on Wedgewood, will turn left onto Montwood, right onto Camwood, left
onto Wedgewood returning to the regular route. Buses traveling inbound, south on Wedgewood, will turn right onto Honolulu, right onto Ceylon, left onto Bermuda, right onto McRae, left onto Glengarry, left onto Berwick, right onto McRae, left onto Montwood, right onto Wedgewood returning to the regular route.

The detours will remain in place through December. The good news is the Montwood project is supposed to be finished by February of next year.
