Is Drake Really Coming to El Paso?

Did you hear? Drake is coming to El Paso!

Oh-em-gee, right? As cool a show as that would be, though, there is no truth to the story.

The rumor apparently started after someone began circulating a flier for a May 9 concert at the Don Haskins Center that listed Fred Loya as one of the sponsors. But Jorge Vasquez, director of UTEP Special Events, confirmed to KVIA that the flier is bogus and that a Drake concert is not scheduled.

But that doesn’t mean it might not happen sometime this spring or summer.

"We are hoping we can make it happen," Vasquez told ABC-7 about a possible Drake concert. "We are in the stages of trying to make it happen and we ask for people to be patient until we know something more concrete.”

At this point, Drake's only U.S performances are three nights at Coachella in Indio, California in April and three nights in New York in June.
