LANE GADDY RESTORES THE MARTIN BUILDING, DESIGNED BY BRAUNTON & LIEBERT AND ERECTED IN 1917. GORGEOUS RESIDENTIAL UNITS...

A downtown El Paso building that was built in 1917 could be your new home. The 98-year-old Martin Building at the corner of Mesa and Mills has been restored by a local developer, Lane Gaddy, and is now taking on renters for the apartments in the building.

Gaddy is also renovating another downtown El Paso building, the O.T. Bassett Tower. The 98-year-old Martin building is one of the city's most historic downtown buildings, and with lofts starting at just $695 per month, with a monthly $30 city parking permit, it shows that not all buildings need to be super high-end hotels or living spaces.

There are so many other buildings downtown that could be renovated and turned into affordable, chic living spaces. Hopefully other El Paso developers who are so quick to build matchbox houses and apartment complexes will see the end result of Gaddy's renovations and do the same to our historic downtown buildings.
