12-year-old Priscilla Barrientos was walking on Album and Cuesta Brava on October 21 when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver. El Paso police and Priscilla's mother, Vanessa, are asking the public for help in finding the person who is responsible.

The vehicle that hit Priscilla was a green van being driven by a person described only as an older man wearing glasses. Police say he didn't make a complete stop at the stop sign and that's when he hit Priscilla. He drove off and fled the scene after he hit her. Priscilla suffered a bone fracture.

El Paso Police are asking any members of the public with information on the identity of this driver to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-8477(TIPS). You can also go to their website at crimestoppersofelpaso.org. You can also send a text message by entering the key word “CRIME1” (no space and include the quotation marks) plus your tip information, and text it to CRIMES (274637).

We need to make sure people who do this kind of thing are caught. All of our kids are in school, and in danger when they are walking home or walking to school. Let's make sure that they are as safe as possible, and that people who hurt them are brought to justice.
