A traffic accident in the far east part of town ended in the death of one man, and El Paso Police are asking for the public's help in the investigation. They say that people were seen videotaping during the incident and they would like to see that video.
NewsChannel 9 reported the accident happened around 9:45 of the evening of Saturday, February 25 at the intersection of Gateway East and Giles/McRae. Javier Ruvalcaba was in a truck in the inside left turn lane. He tried to go straight instead of turning onto McRae. A vehicle in the outside turn lane did turn left as Ruvalcaba attempted to go straight. The vehicle hit Rubalcaba's truck and the truck was pushed into a pole at the intersection and burst into flames. Ruvalcaba was taken Del Sol Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.
