Disneyland Closing Some Rides to Make Room for New Star Wars Attractions
Now that the new movie, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has surpassed the $1 billion mark in just 12-days, Disneyland is making room for a Star Wars-themed land at the California park.
Disneyland is making way for a 14-acre Star Wars area at the park that will permanently close four attractions and temporarily close a few more to make room for their latest installment. The attraction closures are not the most popular at Disneyland and therefore will be making room for this new Star Wars-themed land that will surely attract many more fans to the park year round.
There is no opening date just yet for the new Star Wars attraction although there are a few Star Wars attractions already open at Disneyland that are part of a promotion in support of the of the new Star Wars movie.
The four attractions that will be permanently close include:
- Big Thunder Ranch
- Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue
- Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo
- Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree
The temporary attraction closures include:
- Mark Twain Riverboat
- Sailing Ship Columbia
- Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
- Disneyland Railroad
- Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes
