Murray's defense attorneys tried to shift some of the blame to Jackson's plastic surgeon Arnold Klein, who had given the singer large numbers of prescriptions to the painkiller Demerol. But while Dr. Kamangar granted that Demerol could have caused Jackson to suffer from insomnia, he ruled it out as a contributing factor in his death.
