Tons of people came out to support great charities and to be covered in colors!

Saturday morning, El Pasoans gathered at Ascarate Park to have a giant color party! I have never woke up so early just to run but I am incredibly happy I was able to run this Color My Cause event and not pass out!

Color My Cause is a non-competitive race put together by Erace3 where participants run or walk this 5K for charity. Participants were able to raise money for these four local charities with the race fee:

  • Rio Grande Foundation
  • Border AIDS Partnership
  • Paso Del Norte Children's Development Center
  • Child Crisis Center of El Paso

Color bomb areas were set up throughout the course and I was jealous of those volunteers. They were attacking people with powdered color and spray bottles filled will food coloring. They got me pretty hard sometimes but it was all in good fun.

I have never seen people so happy after a run but that is probably because I am lazy. Thank you Erace3 for putting on a great event and I can't wait for the next one, The Running Dead 5K!

Check out the pictures and video I got before I ran away for a nap!
